Mirror Lake

August 6,7,8, 2010
Matt and I spent our Anniversary at the Farm Bureau Summer Picnic. So romantic. (Insert sarcasm here). I warned him that if he didn't make plans we would have to help with it, which we did. Second crop was down so that added to the decision of waiting one more week to celebrate.
We decided to take the kids and go to Mirror Lake. Our truck broke down in Sardine Canyon and we ended up back in Logan to get it fixed. As frusterating and as HOT as it was, I am grateful my kids were able to experience IT!! It was good for Matt too and while he was trying to fix things we joked about how different things were when we were both growing up.
Anyway, by the time we arrived at Mirror Lake so had everyone else. We ended up staying down the road a few miles where it was less crowded. The next morning we drove up to Whitney Reservoir and let the kids fish for a while.

We went to get out and realized Kase had no shoes. Not cool mom!!

Kase is in love with Trey's fishing pole! He is actually really good at casting it.

Trey fishes like me. Cast the line, reel it in 20 seconds later and be very dissappointed/unpatient about not catching anything. He did a lot of 'hiking'.

Later in the day we went to Trial, Lily, Lost, and Teapot Lakes. We fished at Teapot and listened to the 'loud crowd' across the lake from us. (Matti is helpingf me and want's me to put 'drunk' instead!!!)

Matt was very patient with the kids (and me not helping with the poles at all!).

Teapot Lake

We actually caught a few fish here!

I love their excitement!!

Still at Teapot but there are Lilly pads everywhere up there.

On a little hike with the youngest.
They are such great entertainment!

Sunday morning we went to a different Lilly Lake. (After looking on the map it looks like there are 5 or 6 just in the area.) We had to drive on what seemed like a 4-wheeler trail for a few miles. The kids were nervous and didn't think we would make it out. They obviously haven't been woodin'-and-yuckin' with my dad.
My "Survivor" trying to untangle his line.

On our way up Matti spotted this on a tree. Really it had two "E's" on the other side of the tree but this is all you can see from the road!

Aren't the Uinta's great. I love them. Looks like you had a great time....nice pics....and before I got done reading the paragraph about the 4 wheel road, I thought they needed to go woodin and yuckin!
